We’re excited to support The Society of the Four Arts’ upcoming Teen Workshop: Art & Math Series — Creating Designs in a Circle on February 7, 2026 at the King Library in Palm Beach.
This free workshop, for ages 12-18, brings together art and math in a hands-on way. Teens will make collaborative and individual art exploring three geometric design techniques in a circle: drawing congruent polygons, using number patterns, and creating mandalas in concentric circles. They’ll also tackle jigsaw puzzles built from tessellations, transforming geometric designs into puzzle pieces. All materials are provided.
It will be led by Dr. Ruth Champagne, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, author, and educator known for weaving creativity and rigor together.
We believe this workshop is a great example of how math can be beautiful, and art can be precise. When disciplines meet, learning deepens. We’re proud that through the Annette Urso Rickel Foundation, we can help fund programs like this one — giving young people tools not just to learn, but to imagine.
