GableStage is a Florida Treasure for Performing Arts

GableStage’s education programs are reaching thousands of students across Miami-Dade County, igniting a passion for the arts and inspiring the next generation of creators and thinkers. Below are some highlights of what these programs are accomplishing.

King James @ GableStage

This season, GableStage’s student matinees have brought professional, contemporary productions to students, introducing them to the magic of live performance. The production King James reached 294 students from schools including Miami Norland Senior High, Westland Hialeah Senior High, Coral Gables High, Miami Senior High, William H. Turner Technical Arts High, The SEED School, Overtown Youth Center, and New World School of the Arts as part of the IGNITE program. Another production, Both Sides Now, inspired 99 students from J.C. Bermudez Doral Senior High, Hialeah-Miami Lakes, and New World School of the Arts.

The IGNITE program continues to thrive in partnership with New World School of the Arts, offering drama juniors and seniors an immersive experience through hands-on workshops, live performances, and custom study guides. Upcoming workshops include sessions on set design, dramaturgy, and the actor’s experience, all led by theater professionals. To close the season, students will receive a custom zine featuring photos, reflections, and writings about their journey through the program, a lasting memento of their growth and accomplishments.
