A Message From The Board of Directors of the Annette Urso Rickel Foundation
Like so many around the world, we at the Annette Urso Rickel Foundation were deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of Dolly Parton. A brilliant performer and songwriter to be sure, she was also a renowned philanthropist and the founder of several charitable organizations. One of those was the Imagination Library, dedicated to providing free books each month to children between the ages of one and five with the intent to foster a love of literacy and summarily investing in our children’s academic future. To date, Imagination Library has distributed hundreds of millions of books worldwide…and counting! Therefore, to keep that count climbing and in honor of Dolly and her remarkable work, we will be awarding $20,000 dollars to this excellent organization. We sincerely hope that our support will continue to benefit young readers throughout the country and encourage other charitable institutions to donate to this essential endeavor.
