STEM Open House at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium

Every great scientist starts with an inspired teacher. The Cox Science Center and Aquarium, in collaboration with the FAU Stiles-Nicholson STEM Teacher Academy, recently hosted the Annual STEM Open House — a full day of professional development, exploration, and inspiration for Palm Beach County educators.

The event brought together over 100 local teachers to strengthen the network of STEM education across the region. Through workshops, hands-on activities, and direct connections with community partners, educators gained new tools and strategies to spark curiosity in the classroom.

Attendees explored more than 80 interactive STEM exhibits, including the newest traveling exhibition, Top Secret: License to Spy, and participated in sessions covering topics from robotics and environmental science to classroom-ready innovation strategies. The day celebrated the educators who bring science to life for their students — empowering the next generation of scientists, engineers, and critical thinkers.
