Workshop for Teens: Shapes & Patterns in Poetry

We’re excited to share that Rickel is funding The Society of the Four Arts’ Teen Workshop: Art & Math Series — Shapes & Patterns in Poetry on April 11, 2026 at the King Library in Palm Beach.

This free workshop, for ages 12-18, lets teens play with geometry, patterns, and creativity through poetry. They’ll read poems that use shapes and numerical patterns, then work together and individually to write their own poems in an Idea Book, inspired by their favorite shapes and patterns. All materials are provided.

The workshop is led by Dr. Ruth Champagne, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, author, and educator known for blending math and creativity.

We believe this is exactly the kind of program that shows how art and math can come together beautifully. Supporting events like this helps young people discover the joy in structure, the beauty in rules, and how creativity can live in unexpected places. We’re proud that the Annette Urso Rickel Foundation helps make this happen.
