GableStage: Performing Arts Theater

We are thrilled to announce that the Annette Urso Rickel Foundation is helping to support GableStage, a cornerstone of Miami’s cultural landscape. This funding will bolster GableStage’s acclaimed education programs, which reach thousands of students across Miami-Dade County, igniting a passion for the arts and inspiring the next generation of creators and thinkers.

GableStage’s commitment to arts education is evident through initiatives like the IGNITE program, offering immersive experiences in theater production to high school students, and the Shakespeare-in-the-Schools program, which brings live performances of classic plays to over 20 public schools annually.

In addition to educational outreach, GableStage continues to present compelling productions that resonate with diverse audiences. The upcoming season includes a co-production of James Ijames’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play “Fat Ham,” in collaboration with Island City Stage and Brévo Theatre. This modern reimagining of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” explores themes of identity and family dynamics, aligning with the foundation’s mission to support innovative and socially relevant art.

GableStage’s work includes touring local schools with their performances. This kind of outreach is incredible:

The Rickel Foundation is proud to support GableStage in its endeavors to make the arts accessible and impactful for all members of the community. We believe that investing in arts education and performance fosters creativity, critical thinking, and cultural appreciation among students and audiences alike.
