What better way to teach students about worldwide ecological issues than by growing coral in a lab and documenting every step of the process ?
This what Palm Beach Day Academy teachers Ashley Hollern and Jonathan Paine, along with a group of Upper Campus eighth- and ninth-grade students did in the fall of 2018 by launching a year-long project to protect coral reefs.
Their work can now be seen in a documentary titled “The Coral Project,” which will air on South Florida PBS stations: 5:30 p.m. Saturday on WXEL42, and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 27 on WPBT2.
